Recap: Escape All Hallows’ Eve successfully returns to Southern California’s NOS Event Center

Insomniac Events celebrated the Halloween weekend hosting a sold-out crowd at the NOS Events Center in San Bernadino, Calif. during their fourth annual Escape: All Hallows’ Eve festival, held Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

Previously known as Escape From Wonderland, the event first began as a one-night event in 2011 and briefly relocated to the San Manuel Amphitheatre last year before returning to NOS this year. Over 45,000 fans attended each day while over 80 artists provided the soundtrack to a frightful weekend across five massive stages.

The 120-foot-tall domed “mega structure” (typically found at EDC and Coachella) served as home to the Slaughterhouse stage, backdropped with a deviously smiling clown face behind the DJ booth. The design and construction of that stage alone took almost 1,500 hours to complete.

Escape also featured two haunted mazes, larger-than-life Halloween-inspired floating rubber ducks, a fog-filled graveyard, and colorful globes strung throughout the trees. The One-Eyed Monster art car, also decorated for the holiday, and 28-foot Cactaferrum art installation also graced the grounds.

While the show itself concluded without any major problems, the grounds did feel noticeably more crowded than years past. The entryways to the indoor stages — Cannibals’ Tea Party and The Chopping Block — were so congested at times that it was almost impossible to enter or exit. Onsite parking, although free, was difficult to find if one arrived later in the evening.

Escape attendees were also the first to see announcements for two events for New Year’s Eve: Insomniac Countdown and White Wonderland, both planned for Dec. 31 in Southern California.
