Southern California’s Top Five Halloween Parties

Shrills and thrills are guaranteed this Halloween weekend in Southern California. Proving that the west coast really is the best coast, parties in San Diego and Los Angeles are stacked with dance music all-stars. There’s multi-stage festivals, single-day extravaganzas and club events galore. Here’s a quick guide to the hottest (and scariest) Halloween parties in Southern California.

Escape: Psycho Circus

The ultimate of all Halloween events, Escape: Psycho Circus is produced by Insomniac, the company behind spectaculars like the Electric Daisy Carnival and Nocturnal Wonderland. There’s haunted mazes sure to deliver on the screams, four stages of just about every genre of dance music to keep you moving, mystifying art installations and beautiful yet frightening theatrical performers to entertain all your senses.  Escape: Psycho Circus returns to the NOS Event Center in San Bernardino, Calif., on Oct. 28 and 29.

Circoloco Los Angeles

One of Ibiza’s most sought-after brands, Circoloco, will make its U.S. debut in Los Angeles at Union on Fri., Oct. 28. Hosted by Sound Nightclub and Rhonda International, Circoloco LA is a house and techno lover’s dream with a lineup featuring the likes of Damian Lazurus, The Martinez Brothers, Black Coffee, Eagles & Butterflies, Lauren Lane and so many more.

Groundwater

The crew behind CRSSD are adding another festival to its string of fall events with the introduction of Groundwater on Oct. 29 and 30 at Petco Park in San Diego, Calif. The 21-and-over, two-day festival brings together a bevy of house music artists like Grammy-nominated duo, Disclosure, Justin Martin, Dusky, Lane 8 and many more.

Groundwater Day/Night Parties

Prefer nightclubs and patios over festival environments? Then head to one of Groundwater’s day or night parties for an all-day, all-night Halloween weekend. From the All Gone Pete Tong party at Bang Bang to pizza with Justin Martin at Basic to spending Sunday night with Tiga at Spin, San Diego is the place to be this Halloween weekend.

Minimal Effort

Darkness is synonymous with the freights of Halloween and for music fans looking for deep and dark house and techno beats, Minimal Effort is a sure bet. Featuring 24 artists across three stages at the Los Angeles Center Studios on Sat., Oct. 29, Minimal Effort’s 10-hour party will have sounds supplied by Tiga (Live), Coyu, Dosem, Kidnap Kid, Mark Farina, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (DJ set), Human Resources and more.
