Spring Awakening issues official date and location announcement, tickets on sale now

Spring Awakening Music Festival (SAMF) organizers today confirmed earlier reports that this year’s event will move from Chicago’s Soldier Field to Jackson Park.

The fifth annual festival will be held on the same weekend as years past: June 10, 11, and 12, 2016.

The move away from Soldier Field is necessary because that venue will host the Copa America Centenario soccer tournament throughout much of June.

Spring Awakening pre-sale tickets are on sale now, starting at $169 plus fees for a three-day general admission pass. VIP passes start at $299 plus fees.

Organizers React Presents say Jackson Park — built to host the historic 1893 World’s Fair — will allow the festival to grow even larger. Attendees can look forward to six branded stages, interactive art installations, firework displays, and carnival rides including a ferris wheel to commemorate the World’s Fair.
